No Bake Dark Chocolate Oreo Tart

The Patriots playing in their 7th Super Bowl with Tom Brady at the helm deserved a special dessert. This tart is no bake and uses a microwave to melt the chocolate, what is easier than that?!

No Bake Dark Chocolate Oreo Tart

For the tart:

60 Oreo cookies

1 stick unsalted butter, melted

15 oz (1 and 1/2 packages) Ghirardelli Dark melting wafers

8 oz heavy whipping cream

4 Oreo cookies coarsely broken (put in plastic bag and hit with a rolling pin)

11×1 1/8″ round tart/quiche pan

For the topping:

1 1/2c. heavy whipping cream

8 oz cream cheese softened

3/4c. powdered sugar

14 mini Oreos

  1. Place Oreos in a food processor and process until very fine
  2. Melt butter in microwave and combine with Oreos, making sure to mix it in well.
  3. Press into the tart pan and up the sides. Use the palm of your hand +/or the solid bottom of a glass to make flat and even.
  4. Place in refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  5. Put chocolate wafers in a microwave safe bowl, pour cream over and microwave 25 seconds.
  6. Stir (the wafers keep their shape until stirred). Heat at additional 15 second intervals until melted.
  7. Pour into the tart pan.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped Oreos over the tart, leaving a 1″ border (for the cream cheese frosting)
  9. Refrigerate at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  10. Allow cream cheese to come to room temperature and soften.
  11. Cream together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  12. In a large mixing bowl mix heavy whipping cream just until firm peaks form (if you beat too long it will become overdone and look like butter).
  13. Fold cream cheese mixture into the whipped cream.
  14. Place into a pastry bag and pipe rosettes onto the tart. Save the rest for extra on the side.
  15. Top with mini Oreos.

  1. Arrggghhh…and now I want chocolate.

    1. Quick trip to the store and you can whip it right up!

  2. This looks amazing! No-bake AND dark chocolate AND oreos?! Heaven!

    1. It is really good and easy too! If you make it, enjoy!!

  3. This is definitely my sort of recipe. We can now even buy Oreo biscuits hre, very expensive as imported, but probably worth it to try and make this cake.

    1. It is definitely worth it I assure you! (or I can mail you some)

  4. I’m new to the food processor obviously, I had never considered using it to chop up the Oreos for crusts and other added pleasures. 😉

    1. You need to fire up that food processor!! Check out my DIY Carvel ice cream cake too, you’ll be buying Oreos by the bundle!

  5. Wow, this post has over 250 pins! Oh, so now I’m heading to the freezer for my 6-point dollop of low sugar ice cream courtesy of weight watchers. Grrr.

  6. Is there any left? I’ll be right over..

    1. No, but I’d happily make another. See you soon?

  7. September 20th is all I’m going to say about this one :).

    1. Is that the wedding date? Or birthday? You want me to ship it??

  8. Everything is made better by including Oreos. And by not needing to be baked! Looks amazing!

  9. This sounds delicious and easy. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

  10. Yum! This sounds so good!

  11. You had me at Oreos, but then when you mentioned the Pats… *swoon*

    1. They are certainly both swoon worthy!

  12. Everytime I start a diet…I see cake!!
