Zombies

Even before AMC’s “The Walking Dead” showed up on the scene zombies were cool.

Even a six-year-old cartoon character and his tiger could see that. I have a soft spot for them as well. They make me laugh. They make me cry. They make me ride an emotional roller coaster.

Zombies are cool for a variety of reasons that honestly shouldn’t need mentioning.

They creep people out.

They keep going even after their face falls off, or they lose an arm or their guts spill out all over the place.

They don’t have to do word problems, or homework of any kind.

They can, in a pinch subsist on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, which when consumed messily will simulate the brains you should have eaten had they been available.

In the end though zombies are as funny as they are scary. Mainly because they lurch and groan and do some pretty stupid stuff. Besides, despite all the brains they’ve eaten they’re still pretty stupid.

Yep, zombies rule!
